College rodeo ticket sales jump 13 percent
Billings Gazette
Ticket chairman John Phillips said Tuesday that revenue totaled nearly $172000 for nearly 15000 tickets. Both numbers represent a 13 percent increase. Total attendance was nearly 19000 including free tickets given to sponsors for marketing and promotion. Rodeo officials say the likely reasons for the increase include people staying closer to home because of the recession and swine flu fears and the success of Wyoming schools – including the University of Wyoming women’s team which won the national championship.
